Dear beautiful people,

(you are all beautiful!)

Another wonderful week of lots of rehearsals and fun experiences! So I will start with a funny story this week...

In the show "High Hopes and Riverboats" I play the mom, Sarah Jane, well Sarah Jane is sometimes like a stress case trying to take care of her younger siblings cause her parents have died, and I get mad at my 15 year old brother Eli (Elder Packer) in the show. With a wooden paddle in hand, I smack his bum as hard as I can, and he jumps off the stage...hehe, well this particular run through, I think I smacked him a little too hard cause the paddle snapped in half! haha, no joke, I dropped the paddle, everyone burst into laughter haha. I feel like an abusive parent. It was quite comical.

(Elder Packer plays the role of Eli...check out the look on his face! Front row, right.)

I have never laughed so much as I have these last 2 weeks and 2 days! These elders and sisters I work with everyday are so funny. Other cool things that happened is we had our first ice cream social this last Sunday at Pres. Ludwig's house. There is another one tonight. Sister Ludwig makes the BEST hot fudge! We saw fireflies for the first time this week! That was cool. And the other cool thing is that every day is gorgeous in Nauvoo. I walk outside and see the temple everyday. No big deal. Yeah right!!

A silly thing that I did last night was dance without shoes on during Riverboats. Elder Toon, who is a "well pretty strong, big guy if you know what I mean," happened to step on my foot with his shoes. Yeah I have a big bruise on my foot. It was all my fault though. haha. My foots fine, I just have a lovely bruise though that reminds me to be smart.

As always, our days our long. The other day, at the end of rehearsal, Elder Camp asked us, "Elders and sisters, who remembers what we did this morning?" haha none of us could remember haha. The point was that we are rehearsing so many things we forget what we have down in the same day! It's a good tired.

The last thing I wanted to talk about is how we get to go into Keokuk once a week to get groceries. It's always a fun adventure, and with our companions, we get to talk to people in town about Nauvoo, and to come to our shows. Well, the sisters and I were driving our awesome 10-seater van into Keokuk thinking that we really needed to get our van washed, when all of the sudden what did we miraculous see on the side of the road...FREE CAR WASH! Does that mean giant van wash too? Well, why not, we pulled in, and had it washed. It was for the faith and family church and they were taking donations for a Christian camp that they were saving up for that summer. We got to talk to them and it was a great missionary opportunity to tell them about the shows in Nauvoo and give them pass along cards about it. And our van is clean! And we still had time for groceries.

There is one thing that I don't miss at all, and that is this... When we got out of our van to get it washed, they had what we would call, "worldly" music playing. Some of the sisters and I were talking, and we don't miss that at all. Get me back in the van and lets sing some hymns! Seriously though, it's not just the solemn hymns and peaceful moments that are wonderful, but the gospel is so much fun! We can be having a party on stage, or laughing up a storm and still feel the spirit. This is Zion, the elders and sisters and I are all working towards the same goal, we have one purpose and are one in heart. It's so easy to have a Zion community when you live in the visitors center! I love being a missionary. I am so blessed to be representing Christ everyday. One of my favorite parts of the day, is putting on that name badge each morning and having the opportunity to bear His name. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share the gospel through what I love doing most. Our shows open this Saturday! It's exciting! The Lord loves you. I love you. Hurrah for Israel!

I love wearing my missionary name tag, and serving together with these wonderful sisters! I love having a piano in our little home.  We cook together and even go shopping together into Keokuk, where we found a great free car wash!
Love,

Sister Paulsen
