So I signed on earlier at the visitors center to write this email but it ended up being just a five minute email check because I didn't have enough time. So, now I am finishing it before the sociable tonight. Today was exciting. We went to church, spent the rest of the morning reblocking the last half of High Hopes and Riverboats because Elder and Sister Camp felt that it needed some changes. Then we had a 2-1/2 hour "MTC" training with President Ludwig. We mostly learned about giving effective tours of the sites since we started that this week! Then after that, we all ran home and came back to the visitors center an hour later with food in hand for our Fast Sunday potluck dinner with all the YPM's. It was delicious. Our tummies are quite full right now! haha. Tonight we have a sociable with Susan Easton Black and then an ice cream sociable at the Ludwigs after that!
So cool things that happened this week. The shows have been going wonderful. Nauvoo is starting to feel sticky humid. It's lovely. We had an amazing couple come to see the shows this week, Brother and Sister Mills. They joined the church years ago after seeing the YPM's perform and feeling the wonderful spirit of the shows. Now they never miss a summer coming to Nauvoo. They are great people. Here's the funnies of this week...
Sister Pettit and I got bikes this week, well actually the elders got bikes, but two of the elders gave them to us because they were too small. So Sister Pettit and I just ride all over Nauvoo in them with our dresses, and our lovely bloomers. Yeah funny picture. So there we were riding home from High Hopes for our dinner break and my bike starts to slow down, and then it comes to a stop. Yeah my high hopes dress is stuck in the wheel. I frantically call for Sister Pettit. She comes back. Basically I am stuck to my bike for the next 20 minutes. Keep in mind that our high hopes dress fabric are like drapes. And also keep in mind that our dinner break is like 20 minutes long, literally. So we are on the side of the rode, tugging and pulling and finally our strong muscles are able to get the wedged dress out from the wheel. Then we rode home, changed for Sunset, grabbed food, drove in the van with the sisters to sunset, and just ate at the sunset performance.
Funny number two...There I was, with the YPM's on stage during "Devil Went Down to Georgia" at Sunset. Elder Rose and I were jamming out on the guitar! I must have been jamming a little too hard because all of the sudden my A strings snaps on my guitar. Yep. The end.
Funny number three...So I'm skipping with the sisters on our way to the women's garden for family prayer with the YPM's and Sister Pettit accidentally steps on my skirt of my dress and I hear a "RIP"! Yep, like half of the waist band on my skirt ripped!
Well, thank you for your prayers, letters and love! The church is true! Love you all. Hurrah for Israel!
Love, Sister Paulsen
Riding our bikes is great fun, but you gotta watch out for those spokes! Sister Pettit and I loved riding together!
Oh what a Day! A broken 'A string' from strumming on my guitar and a torn dress! I don't think I have ever changed my guitar strings by myself...help!
