This week flew by! I swear I just wrote home an email like yesterday! Well, a little bit about the animals and insects here in Nauvoo... This week, my companion, Sister Pettit caught a frog and kissed it, which is funny because we sing a song in Sunset that goes a little something like this..."Well if you've never been frog kissin, then you don't know what you've been missin, there's a world of opportunity under each and every log!" Sister Pettit also caught and made friends with a firefly, who stayed in her hand for like an hour. And last night, before going to bed, we enjoyed watching giant spiders right outside our window spinning webs. I committed a person to baptism this week. She was 7. Yep.
Ok, so life is lovely and exhausting, but I feel the prayers of so many and the help of the Lord, and even with our crazy schedule, I am able to have so much energy all the time! I know the Lord blesses us when we are obedient. I am loving Nauvoo, and feel so grateful I have the privilege of serving here.Today we had a wonderful rehearsal, cleaning dances and music and such. And we are going to a Sunday Sociable at the Stake Center any minute now...and then...ice cream sociable, haha, Sister Ludwig has had one like every week since we have been here, which doesn't always happen every summer. Good thing we dance so much to burn it off.
So the thought I want to share for this week is this...The early saints were amazing examples. It is so incredible that they had such faith to leave this beautiful place. They swept the floors, loaded the handcarts, took no extra baggage, and journeyed across the plains because they trusted their Prophet. They trusted the Lord, and they headed to Zion. I know that we can do the same. We can follow their courageous example. Get up in the morning, load your handcart and head to Zion! The church is true, we are lead by a living prophet. I love my Savior. Love you all! Hurrah for Israel!
Love, Sister PaulsenThis is the Yeardsley home that we live in. It is on the corner of White and Partridge. Just behind our home is where they do the Pageant that begins in July.
