Hello! Another wonderful week has gone by. I can't even remember all of the cool things I was going to write about. I'm not quite sure what to think of today... It marks our half way point in Nauvoo! That means that we have had 51 incredible, life-changing days and there are 51 more to live up, and learn from, and enjoy every little moment that God has in store for me here in Nauvoo! Also with a half way point, comes transfers, and today we got new companions! Sister Pettit has been such a blessing in my life, and I have loved being companions with her! Now I have a wonderful new companion, Sister Frisby! She is from Orem, Utah, just like Sister Pettit! I love her so much, and I am so excited that we get to be companions the last half of the summer!
Vocal Point was here this week. We were given permission to stay past curfew Friday night to see their performance. Um. Awesome! Sister Higginbotham, one of the sisters in the band, got her full time 18 month mission call this week too. We got to see her open it up on Saturday morning at 7 AM at the 70's Hall! The 70's Hall is awesome, basically, back in the 1830's - 40's it was like the what we would call today as "The MTC." Sister Higginbotham is going to San Jose, California. Another cool thing, Elder Rose and I came up with this genius idea, and we started a "Nauvoo Unity Fitness Fit Group." Haha, it's pretty awesome, we have posters and everything! Each of us have a "quest" or our "goals", and we get stickers as we meet them throughout the summer. Pretty legit.
This week, we had our first pageant dance rehearsal! It is so exciting, all of the Pageant core cast is here rehearsing now. On Thursday night, after Sunset, we had an ice cream social with them at the Ludwig's. And guess what, we have an ice cream social with vocal point tonight. This next month starting tomorrow will be like the busiest we have ever been, since we are now rehearsing pageant at 7:30 every morning and then pageant starts next week! I'm stoked.
One of the coolest things that happened this week was this...So there is this sweet girl from Nauvoo, who is a non-member who came to High Hopes and Riverboats. Well, she felt something special, because the next thing you know, she invited her priest to come. And her catholic priest showed up with her the next day to see the show. He has never come to see High Hopes and Riverboats before as he has lived in Nauvoo for years. It was pretty incredible to see. Miracles happen as we bear our testimony in that show. The priest left with a big smile on his face. And our friend, she since has come to every performance of High Hopes this week. I know it's because of the wonderful spirit that she feels every time she comes that she wants more of it. I know that as we surround ourselves with wholesome activities, and things relating to the gospel, we will want more, because it is so real! When we live the gospel, it brings so much happiness! I know that everything good comes from God.Check out Moroni 7:13. :) In fact, just check out all of Moroni, chapter 7. Our Savior loves us so much. One of my favorite primary songs goes like this, "I feel my Savior's love, in all the world around me." Wow, I do, especially being a missionary here in Nauvoo. I have felt so much added strength since being set apart as a missionary. It has been such a wonderful blessing in my life to serve the Lord every day for the past 51 days. I'm ready to take on the wonderful adventures of these next 51 days!
"Thank you so much for your letters and such. We're so happy that you've kept in touch. And your writing is exciting, being so far away from Nauvoo. Though we miss you, please know this you, are forever in each of our prayers. Don't worry or fuss about Nauvoo and us." Those are the lyrics to a song that I sing in High Hopes and Riverboats, after I read a letter from my husband Henry who is serving a mission in England. So just felt like including that little tune. Hint: about the letters and such. haha. Just kidding. No but for real, thank you for those of you who are reading this who have sent me letters. It's so fun to get mail. And those of you who haven't, don't worry, you can still send me letters! hehe. And I love you!
Family, I am really excited to see you in Nauvoo this next week, and especially excited for you to experience the wonderful love and spirit that is felt here in Nauvoo. Oh joy, will you be filled with happiness! The church is so true! Hurrah for Israel! Oh and something else fun, I'm going to start signing my letters, with "sincerely yours, "since that is the title of one of the songs in High Hopes.
Sincerely yours,
Sister Paulsen
P.S. I had Mom send my bread recipe (thanks mom!) and now we make bread every Thursday. Ha Ha, it's so fun, our celebration day p morning! We have made it faithfully every week, at 6:30 a.m. every p day before we go to the temple by 6:50 ha ha. its so fun. The sisters devour it in a couple days, so it only lasts for like Thursday Friday, maybe Sat... its funny.
Anyway love you lots, see you this Saturday!
Sometimes we get to be in the audience and watch the performances!
Sister Aramaki, Sister Brower, and Me enjoying Dessert!
This is our attempt at making Oreo truffles. We got the idea from Elder Johnson. The Elders and the Sisters made them and then we brought them to taste test and share.
Sometimes we even have time to fly like Mary Poppins! We also had a Birthday party for Elizabeth Hoffman. She is celebrating too I'm sure! Happy Birthday Elizabeth!
...And Yep! I really Kissed a Frog!
The most beautiful Sunsets are in Nauvoo!

We've got a stamped letter ready to go in the mailbox tomorrow!
