Ni Hao ma?

Ni hao ma?
Hello! Nauvoo was wonderful this week, my family was here! It was so fun to have you at all the shows, and go to Carthage with you on my P-morning too! I hope you enjoyed Nauvoo as well. Besides the lovely fact that my family was here, some other highlights include...
I went on a drive and chat with Sister Ludwig (our mission president's wife) for an hour on Monday morning. This summer each of us have the opportunity to drive "chat" with Sister Ludwig and talk about life, and get wonderful wisdom from that remarkable lady! We went down by the Mississippi River and just talked for an hour in the car. She has so many wonderful insights and it was definitely a highlight of the week!
Elder Packer got his mission call this week! He is going to Morristown, New Jersey, Spanish speaking! We got to watch him open it up in the 70's hall at 7 am Friday morning.
I worked in the Brigham Young home for my site day on Tuesday. It has been one of my favorite tour days this summer. It's amazing to be able to walk through the rooms of a prophet's home and tell people about him, his life, and his family. I am so grateful that I was able to bear testimony of prophets and of the Savior this week in the Brigham Young home. I know that Brigham Young was a true prophet, and that we are still lead by a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson.
Pageant is here! Our first week of Pageant was this week! I love Pageant for so many reasons. We are just on stage for two of the dances, but when we are on stage, it's like an explosion of joy! It's also so neat to have all the family casts here. We haven't been able to watch all of the Pageant yet, but from what we have seen and when we are on stage, the thing that sticks out to me most is the importance of family. The families that built up beautiful Nauvoo. The joy that is found in our families. That's what the gospel is all about. Because of the Lord and His amazing plan of happiness, we can be with our families through the eternities. I love you family! I was so grateful you could be in old Nauvoo this past week! This gospel is so true and our Heavenly Father and Savior love us. Hurrah for Israel!
Sincerely yours,
Sister Paulsen

This is Elder Packer who got his mission call.  Um...this is an attractive pic of him as the old man in 'Just Plain Anna Amanda'...:)

So on my P-day my companion and I were able to spend 4 hours with our families who were there and go to the Carthage Jail and have lunch together.  Sister Frisby's Mom and grandmother surprised her by coming in too.  They are behind my Mom and sister Angie in this photo (just over my shoulder)

These photos were of activities that my family was doing while I was doing my missionary work...)

This is my Grandfather and Grandmother Quilter with 2 of my nieces and my sister, Adrienne.
They are doing pioneer games and activities they have here for children.

My nieces Audrey and Makayla.  They drove with their parents all the way from North Carolina.  Little Kayla is taking a rest before she has some more fun.

Here they are waiting for 'Just Plain Anna Amanda' to start. It's a show made just for children.

At the end of the show, Anna Amanda invited Makayla to come up and talk with her.

After the show ended we got a picture of Anna Amanda and Me with my nieces.  I play the role of Anna Amanda's Mom.  Kids love this show!

Me and my cute nieces.  It was so fun seeing them there!

This is a picture my Dad took of me in "High Hopes and River Boats".  I play the Role of Sarah Jane and Elder Fairbourne plays the role of  my husband.

This is our family in the show. Elder Fairbourne and I play the roles of caring for our younger siblings, because our parents have passed away.

Below is a video clip that my Dad took while he was here.  It is a clogging number during the 'Sunset by the Mississippi' a great variety show they have each evening.
